The most common question I get asked by people is what exactly do I do? And what are people to expect from working with me? I’ll be honest for many years I’ve had a lot of difficulty answering this question to myself never mind the general public! Not very professional perhaps but the truth nonetheless.
Condensing what goes on in a session in a few sentences was a struggle for me but that was my own internal struggle presenting itself which I’m very happy to say (well for me at least!) that the struggle is no more! I’m fascinated about why people aren’t performing, behaving or feeling the way the truly want to.
In a nutshell, I guide people to not only see but feel their own INNER TRUTH and gain an understanding of how they have come to be the way they are.
What does that mean I hear you say?
I help people not only listen to the pain/conflict going on inside but to FEEL it and FREE themselves from it. This pain can be anything from back pain, digestive problems to a traumatic childhood.
How do I do that?
By helping them to connect, listen to & feel what’s going on their physical body. You see most of the day we spend living in our heads which when done too much separates us from our instinctual knowing/feeling or ‘gut feelings’.
My mentor kept repeating to me over the years that you can always work /progress from your own truth no matter how bad you think it is. The many people I’ve worked with over the years are testament to this statement. I’ve had the honor to witness people grow and progress in their lives from some challenging situations to say the least such as sexual and domestic abuse, shame based behaviors, low self esteem, anxiety, depression & chronic pain.
I won’t go in to detail with the tools and techniques employed to facilitate this as it will depend on each individual what will suit them best. However, the number one ingredient for all healing is providing a safe environment in which you may be heard and helping you cultivate that safe environment within yourself so you can listen more readily to those ‘gut feelings’.
Sounds simple and not very complicated I know but it’s a starting point and a powerful one at that. I believe that solutions to your problems lie INSIDE you and it’s my job to help you connect in with that inner knowing. Neuroscience is now showing that the body remembers everything that happens in our life, most of it on an unconscious level. The first step in personal development or progression from pain is to make the unconscious conscious and move forward with purpose & action from this point at your own pace.
Why bother looking inside you?
When you’re in pain the most immediate reaction is to get out of pain. But when the original source of pain is still there and its presenting itself in another form such as migraines, back ache, emotional eating etc. it’s your bodies way of telling you there may be more to this that you logically think. When you begin to look at what might be causing your pain or conflict rather than looking at the symptom only the likelihood of finding a resolution is vastly increased.
We can only work with what is available in any given moment so rest assured you won’t be required to divulge your deepest darkest secrets. In fact in many cases people have informed me that by working on a particular issue automatically resolved another that they had not even mentioned during the session.
