I’m passionate about what I do so, therefore, I’m inherently biased already!
That being said, I love Cranial/Craniosacral therapy
both receiving it and treating people with it.So before I burst into a passionate rant about cranial therapy if you’re not familiar with it here’s a quick overview.
Cranial therapy, in essence, helps balance the flow of cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) in the dural tube (in the spine) between head and sacrum. CSF cushions the brain and spinal column and brings nourishment to nerves &transports waste material to be recycled. If there’s a restriction or compression the flow of CSF in the dural tube is affected & this can affect the overall health of the body in a variety of ways. Back to why I love it! My own personal experience of cranial has been great. Improved energy, focus, motivation are some of the benefits as well as healing from lower back pain, neck pain. Overall I generally feel better and more relaxed in myself physically & emotionally post cranial treatment which as a practicing therapist myself is vital when treating others.
The beauty of cranial is that it is so gentle but very profound in its results. Of course, it’s not a cure for everything but is extremely beneficial as a treatment on its own as well as complimenting many other therapies both medical & otherwise.
I tend to end up treating people with cranial for the most part who have tried most other things and are still in pain or are prepared to try anything! In an ideal world, I’d suggest people go for cranial if not monthly at least bi-monthly as part of their own health maintenance program.
The biggest kick as I’m sure as any therapist get is when their clients get results i.e. an improvement in their physical/emotional/mental state. From babies to the elderly I’ve been privileged to have witnessed some amazing results which as you may have noticed by now further fuels my passion for it!
So what can cranial treat and what’s all this fuss about?!
In newborns & infants anything from colic, reflux, sleeping issues, feeding issues. In children & adults anything from back pain, headaches, low energy, anxiety to dyslexia, behavioral issues, autism, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries (concussion) etc.I will go into further detail on another blog but the above is to give you a taste of how cranial can help you or your little one at any stage in the journey of life. Please get in touch if you’d like to find out more information or wish to take the plunge and experience it for yourself.
To your continued health,
